Work Work Work

I have loved living in Alaska, I just received two jobs and I am now working every moment possible. I go to peoples houses and take care of them. I have only worked a week but in that week I have found that I love these people so much. I enjoy helping them with whatever they need. Most of the time they make me clean there house but again if it helps them I am very glad to do it.

There personalities are very different but they all have one thing in common. They need help. And they need company. And I fulfill that need. It is amazing to know that someone can rely on me this much and if i miss even just one day they are calling my work making sure I am ok and that nothing has happened to me. What amazing clients I have. Their lives have been filled with so much love, and so many stories. I am honored to even get to listen to them. They have wisdom way beyond my years and I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to get to know them. I thank Heavenly Father for the things I have learned here and will get to learn here.

WELCOME TO ALASKA

A part of the flight that i actually liked was landing in sidka alaska. It was awesome. As a passenger you can't see the runway until you hit it. It seriously looks like you are going to hit the water but fortunately for us we didn't :)

Hopefully I will be able to get some more pictures up of our apartment. It is so cute and my room is pretty much an attic, but i actually decorated it. I know that never happens. My bed is a futon (so comfortable) and i have a rocking chair. Brother and Sister Jensen (the people who rent out the rooms) are awesome. They treat us renters very well.

There is a bear problem here and i am not allowed to go running because they will chase you. I would rather that not happen. All in all I think that i will have a lot of fun here. It is my hope and prayer that i will be able to help a lot of people and to mostly help my dad.

Mesa Falls!

On the 4th of July my roommates and i decided to go and see Mesa Falls. It is so beautiful. We went to the upper mesa falls and the Lower oneswe also went to cave falls. They all were different but they were all beautiful. It is amazing how my testimony of my Heavenly
Father grows when seeing these places. I wonder how anyone can doubt that He is real when we have such amazing sights around us. We then got to spend the rest of the night with our amazing FHE brothers. They are hilarious and I have never felt so excepted and loved in my family away from home. They are so much fun

Totally awesome!

I am still in love with my horseback riding class. We have gone so many places and seen awesome stuff. It is amazing to be on a horse and work with your horse. My horse Tina can be extremely grumpy on days and I have learned that a apple or carrot will make her attitude so much better.
These are some findings that our teacher Brother Carter showed us. They are over ten thousand years old and yet are still so clear. I feel so lucky to have seen such sights as these. When i first
came to rexburg i decided that it was the ugliest place ever. But since then my views have changed. I have seen amazing and beautiful sights

Wow so so much has happened. I changed my major, I have started some way awesome classes, and have some awesome new and old roommates. I have two classes that are my favorites, the first is my horseback riding class the second is my voice lesson. My horseback riding class is every thursday we get to ride to yellowstone, beaver-dick national park, and so many other places. My horses name is Tina, she is gentle hearted but knows that I am a beginner, which she totally takes advantage of.

It is a lot of work yet it is so worth it. My second favorite class here is my private voice lessons. My teacher just graduated with her masters degree and she is amazing. I am a bit intimidated because she is so good but I will get over it. She has already assigned me two songs one is french and the other is Italian. It is my goal to this week to go and find someone who speaks both of these languages and get the pronunciations right. Oh and I changed my major to a BA in music I will cluster in dance and culinary arts. SO EXCITED!!!!!

The Most Amazing Experience

This is the most amazing picture of the Rexburg temple i have found. I actually stole it from my facebook friend (and real life friend) Neil but i don't think he knows.

I had the most amazing thing happen to me. As I was driving home from work (it is about a 1/2 an hour drive) I called my best friend bethany (i know driving and talking on the phone not a good idea) just to catch up and talk. We got onto the subject of how inspiration comes and how we know it is the spirit. This is where the cool part happens. The spirit came into my mind and told me what to say. the words just flowed from my mouth. It was amazing. Never before have a felt like that. I am so blessed and humbled to know that i could be the Lords tool. I also am so glad that i could be worthy enough to have the spirit in my life.

So I finally went to the doctor. My foot is not fractured but i have torn ligaments on the inside and outside of my ankle and also in my foot. no fun. Now i get to where this very attractive (actually not really attractive at all) boot. Although it does have a pretty cool bubble thing that if you press it the boot fills up with air and goes tighter on your foot.

I am just glad that I no longer have to have crutches. They were a pain and really actually hurt. I am hoping that my dance teachers understand and let me stay in the class. Cross your fingers everyone.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Well today is Tuesday and I am yet again humbled by so many out there who have harder lives than me. I also admire those you can play the violin. I have been trying and I have been failing. Why is it that I am starting this now instead of the 5th grade.*sigh* But if I don't learn now I never will. I can barely play two measures with out messing up. But I will get this down. I don't know how long it will be but I will get it.
Last night my ward got the opportunity to have FHE with President Clark. Wow is that man amazing or what. From the moment he started to talk I was impressed to ask this question. But I fought that inspiration. If I did ask the question then everyone in my ward would know what I was struggling with and I do not like people knowing that. (that is something i need to work on) But I stood up and asked "why is it so important that we let others serve us?" Oh man did President Clark put me in my place. He told me how others need to care for each other. It is part of our eternal purpose here on this earth. He continued saying that if we do not let people serve us then we have pride in our hearts.
Wow that was a kick in the butt let me tell you. Lets just say that today when people asked if i needed help i let them help.

My grateful list

Ok So i feel like my last blog was full of complaints and that just kept bugging me for the last two hours. I would like to say things that I am grateful for. (keep in mind that these are not in any particular order)

1. The gospel
2. Amazing roommates who help me so much in life.
3. My family
4. The person who just helped me by carrying my food cause i have to use crutches to walk
5. My FHE brothers. They continually take care of me and will do practically anything for me.
6. BYUI and the standards that I live while I am here
7. Trials- they help you progress in life, yes they may be hard but they do help.
8. The scriptures and how they help me resist temptation
9. Music- It relaxes me when needed gets me ready for a run, (when i am off crutches) and makes me feel like I have talent when i sing.
10. Friends because they always make my day with their funny comments, random phone calls or huge smiles.
11. My body- My Heavenly Father gave me this beautiful body that is strong both physically and mentally.

There is much much much more but now i have to get started on Homework

My Physical Trial

Walking to my world dance class last thursday I did not notice that there was a patch of ice up ahead and of course being the person I am slipped on it. Well now it is Monday and my foot is still swollen and I have to be on crutches. In the mornings my foot looks almost normal but by the end of the day I think it has more resemblance to a hobbit foot than my own. (unless of course you think I have hobbit feet lol). About 10-15 people have come up to me telling me to go to the doctor. I probably should but really I don't like visiting the doctor. And I hate spending the money. What can I learn from this. Well I have been told to that I need to learn how to except help from other. But I hate that. I love being independent. I love being able to say that i could do that all on my own. This is going to be hard.
The picture that goes with this by the way is me being bored and playing with photobooth on my computer so it really has nothing to do with my situation. But I will put a picture of me on my crutches later.
